John Wayne Crowley, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 15, 2021.
Wayne was born in Macon, Georgia to the late John Troupe Crowley, Jr. and Edith Patisaul Crowley. He was a graduate of Lanier High School, Mercer University and Walter F. George School of Law. Wayne was President of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at Mercer University, a member of Scabbard and Blade Military Honor Society, Blue Key National Honor Fraternity and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity at Mercer. He served his country in the United States Army earning rank of Captain and receiving an Honorable Discharge. He practiced law for forty-eight years with Bush, Crowley and Leverett and most recently was of counsel with Bloodworth, Crowley and Leverett. Wayne was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and member of Ingleside Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over forty-seven years. Twenty-three of those years were with the Bowman Crowley class at Ingleside Baptist Church. He was an ordained deacon and served on numerous committees. He was a member of the Exchange Club and Sertoma Club and was an avid Georgia Football fan. Wayne was a devoted and loving husband, brother, uncle and friend.
